Organic Sencha Japanese Green Tea 40 g (20 bags)
Sencha light and refreshing tea is prepared in Kyoto from the season's first tender young leaves harvested at their peak of flavour in late spring. Hills around Kyoto are famous for having the ideal climatic and soil conditions to produce some of the best quality teas in Japan. The exceptionally light, smooth and refreshing flavour comes from using only young, organically grown leaves. The leaves are briefly steamed, rolled and cooled by the special Japanese Sencha process. Then immediately packed to seal in their fresh taste and aroma. This steaming takes place within 24 hours of harvesting and inhibits the enzyme activity that causes oxidisation, enabling the tea to retain its bright emerald green leaf colour and preserving its nutritional benefits. Sencha features a bittersweet flavour, deep but not leaving aftertaste, refreshing and relaxing at the same time. It makes a good alternative to a floral or smoky green tea.
Ingredients: Organically grown green tea leaves
Preparation: Boil water and leave to cool for a minute before pouring over the teabag. Infuse one tea bag per person in boiled water for only 1-2 minutes for best flavour.
